I like to try and make my stuff pop out in any way whether it be by color, humor, size, or creativity and that's really what got me thinking of this. I figured a cheeseburger isn't an every day thing or something you think about (at least for some). Then I was thinking of something I could put with it that wouldn't be common either and my thought went straight to a penguin. During the making of the cheeseburger I thought it would be cool to use the red clay instead since no one else was so I restarted it. I didn't really know what I was going to do to the burger so that it would be able to dry quicker but then I was told I could scoop out the inside of it and that would make it a lot better, so I did it. While I was making it I realized that their wasn't going to be enough time to make a penguin and i really didn't know what other animal I should do but then I just decided to make a shark. I always liked clay and mud as a kid so I really enjoyed making this, and have to admit that I played around a lot with the clay. I think I could have wasted less time and maybe would've been able to make the penguin but i overall like how it came out.

What inspired me to make this piece for this project was different images I had seen on google and a very similar design that my friend made. I used styrofoam, and glue to make this. figuring out what to do for this was more of a challenge than making it because I've never really made anything like this before. Making things like this I think help me become more creative mind.
We got the inspiration of making this painting from a piece of Abstract Art we had done before. We used a view finder to find the the exact part of the piece that we wanted to zoom into it and use to make a whole other piece of art. During the making of it, I realized how we really need to make sure not to put in too much. we also learned that it would have been way easier to put the all the lighter colors on first. I'm not really used to working in groups when it comes to art so I can be pretty annoying and take over but I think it got a lot better throughout the piece.
We observed that having more than one person doing one piece of artwork helps when you need ideas, especially when doing something abstract. We took risks when we didn't really know what else to put in and we just started adding stuff to see how it looked. We solved problems when we accidentally got a violet of the white and it started mixing so we had to dry it and go over it with another coat of white. We also had to do the best we could to make the same color as the background again to mix some little but noticeable mistakes. |
